Pakistani Athletics Fedration,A big Flop

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Athletics Federation present management is a Super Flop, as they fail to win a single gold medal in their past 8-year stint. Highly placed sources inside AFP have confirmed to The Sports Reporter TV that despite being worse flops both President Major General (R) Muhamamd Akram Sahi and Secretary Muhammad Zafar got re-elected unopposed for the third tenure, from AFP General Council meeting, which was held on (Wednesday) in Lahore. Sources further said, Gen Sahi talked too much during the last 8-eayrs just like he lost both POA elections in 2012 and 2016, he and his team fail to provide even ordinary performances during last several years, he was mainly depending on few certain individuals, who were calling all the shots and always prevented Sahi from meeting players and those coaches, who had worked hard and remained instrumental in preparing athletes for national and international events, but Sahi had no time to listen to genuine coaches and athletes, as he was more busy in relying on his blue-eyed ones. Sources further disclosed that during last 8-years of Sahi and company tenure, Pakistani athletes fail at Islamic Games, 12th South Asian Games and other major or even minor international competitions and didn’t win a single gold medal, after highly disappointed and pathetic results, present management is setting National Sports Policy 2005 aside and ready to get elected for third term in running, in 2011 Gen Sahi take over the reins of AFP and since then he had made promises one after another to take Pakistani athletes to new levels, but Pakistani athletes performances are more than enough to nullify their claims, according to Pakistan Sports Board sources, AFP led by gen Sahi, athletes took part in 12th SAG and only won three silver medals, while prior to Sahi, Gen Safdar was the president and Pakistani athletes won 4 gold, 2 silver medals in 11th SAG held in Bangladesh, while Pakistani athletes managed to win just 1 silver and 1 bronze medal in Islamic Solidarity Games held in Baku, while two athels who accompany the team in Baku namely Razia Sultana and Sohail Amir didn’t participate in their events and AFP fail to take any action against both athletes despite lapse of around three months, while federation fail to send a single athlete for the mega 2014 Asian Games, PSB had provided Rs 25 million grant to AFP in last 6 years as annual and special grants, but instead of taking step forward, AFP is going backwards, it is high time IPC Minister Mian Riaz must take action and ensure AFP given in right hands to stand realistic chances of winning medals and genuine coaches given their due right.
